South Florida Science Museum Fall Family Fun Fest

by Debi Kachman

Our volunteers representing the club

It's wonderful to see the support between the organizations and their endeavors, especially when it involves the education and inspiration of our community.

We were delighted to see so many curious minds both young and old showing a true thirst for knowledge.

Not that I had a lot to share, so I "showed off the pretty stuff" and Keith answered all the questions.

For all glass enthusiasts and supporters of glass art:

A scholarship was created in the memory of Shari Carney, the sister of our Club Treasurer, Jenny Wright.

McMow Art Glass is proud to announce

The Shari Lynn Soldano-Carney Scholarship Fund

"After the passing of our beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and wife on April 25th, 2014 we, the family of Shari Lynn Soldano-Carney, have chosen to memorialize her life by starting a scholarship fund in her name. McMow Art Glass Studio in Lake Worth, Florida, where Shari frequented classes and entered contests, was a place where she could lose herself in creativity. Some of the art she enjoyed most consisted of glass beads, fused glass and slumping. Throughout Shari’s life she was always looking for new therapeutic and creative outlets to craft her expressionism and skills. Our hope is that Shari’s love for the art of glass live on through this scholarship and at the same time benefit someone in need."

McMow Art Glass is proud to partner with Shari’s family to honor her memory. Each April, in conjunction with the Glass as Art Contest a scholarship recipient will be awarded. This scholarship will be utilized to provide a comprehensive glass arts education, including glass blowing classes through the Benzaiten Center for the Creative Arts, to a local student in need.
